LEGEND PRO® / TECHNOLOGY

Protection is not one layer.
It is a system.

Legend Pro PPF technology combines a flexible TPU-based film, engineered surface chemistry, controlled adhesion and precision installation into one protective interface between your paint and the road.

01 / MATERIAL SCIENCE

Designed around the behaviour of the film.

A premium PPF is not simply a clear sheet placed over paint. Its performance comes from how multiple materials behave together—absorbing everyday contact, conforming to complex bodywork, managing surface contamination and preserving the appearance underneath.

01

TPU — the protective backbone

Thermoplastic polyurethane provides the flexible film body. In automotive PPF systems, TPU is used because it can combine flexibility, durability and impact resistance while conforming to shaped body panels.

02

Surface chemistry — the first line

The upper surface is engineered to manage contact with water, dirt and contaminants. A hydrophobic surface encourages water to bead and helps make routine cleaning easier.

03

Optical engineering — protection you can see less

Clarity matters because the objective is to protect the finish without making the film visually dominant. Low visual distortion and a smooth surface help the underlying paint remain the focus.

04

Interface engineering — adhesion without compromise

The adhesive layer creates the controlled interface between film and vehicle. Proper adhesive behaviour supports uniform contact, clean installation and long-term film placement when professionally installed.

02 / IMPACT MANAGEMENT

What happens between the road and your paint?

Road debris does not need to reach painted metal to cause damage. The PPF becomes a sacrificial interface: the film receives much of the everyday contact first, helping reduce direct exposure of the original paint.

  • Stone and gravel impact: the flexible film acts as a protective barrier over vulnerable painted areas such as leading edges, bumpers and rocker panels.
  • Everyday abrasion: light contact from washing, loading and general use can affect a surface; the film is designed to take that exposure rather than leaving the paint directly exposed.
  • Contaminants: insects, road tar, stains and environmental residue can land on the film surface and can be easier to manage when the surface is stain-resistant and hydrophobic.
  • Weathering: automotive PPF is used to help shield vulnerable paint from outdoor exposure, including UV radiation and environmental contaminants.
PPF is best understood as a sacrificial protective layer—not an invisible force field. Its job is to reduce everyday paint exposure while preserving the vehicle's appearance.
03 / MULTI-LAYER ARCHITECTURE

Five layers. Five jobs.

The supplied Legend Pro material identifies a multi-layer structure. Each layer contributes a different part of the final performance profile.

Legend Pro's supplied website material describes premium TPU material, self-healing, hydrophobic performance and optical clarity; the layer terminology follows the supplied Legend Pro structure.

01

Hydrophobic Top Coat

Creates the exposed surface and helps repel water, dirt and contaminants while supporting stain resistance and easier maintenance.

02

Self-Healing Layer

Designed to reduce the appearance of minor surface marks when the film receives suitable heat, helping maintain a cleaner-looking finish.

03

TPU Film

The flexible structural layer that provides the film body and contributes to durability, conformability and impact protection.

04

Pressure-Sensitive Adhesive

Forms the controlled bond to the vehicle surface and must be handled and installed correctly for a clean, stable application.

05

Release Liner

Protects the adhesive before installation and is removed during the application process.

04 / SELF-HEALING MECHANISM

Minor marks can be engineered to disappear.

Self-healing PPF is designed around a surface layer that can respond to heat. When suitable heat reaches the film, minor surface scratches or swirl-like marks can become less visible as the surface reflows.

A

Mark occurs

A light surface abrasion affects the upper film layer rather than directly marking the vehicle's paint.

B

Heat activates response

Heat can come from appropriate environmental or controlled sources, depending on the installation and care method.

C

Surface recovers

The self-healing chemistry allows minor marks to diminish, restoring a smoother visual surface.

D

Appearance stays cleaner

The result is a surface that can maintain its visual quality better against repeated light abrasion.

05 / SURFACE PERFORMANCE

Water, dirt and light: the surface is part of the technology.

Protection is only useful if the vehicle can remain easy to maintain. The surface of a PPF system influences how water spreads, how contaminants sit on the film and how the finish looks after cleaning.

HYDROPHOBIC

Water management

Hydrophobic behaviour encourages water to bead rather than spread across the surface. This can reduce the tendency of water and dirt to remain broadly distributed over the film.

STAIN RESISTANCE

Contaminant management

A stain-resistant surface is intended to make common environmental contamination easier to manage, helping the finish remain cleaner between washes.

OPTICAL CLARITY

Preserving the finish

Clarity is critical for gloss applications. A well-engineered film should protect the paint while allowing its colour, reflections and design lines to remain visually prominent.

LOW VISUAL DISTORTION

Surface quality

The smoother the film surface and the better the installation, the less distracting the protective layer becomes from normal viewing distances.

06 / FINISH ENGINEERING

Technology should preserve character—not hide it.

Different PPF finishes change how the vehicle interacts with light. The protection system can therefore be selected not only for protection goals, but also for the visual language of the vehicle.

  • Gloss: engineered for a bright, reflective appearance with strong visual clarity.
  • Matte: changes the way light reflects from the surface for a more understated, satin-like character.
  • Black & Colour: combines surface protection with a visual transformation, subject to the specific product specification and application.
  • Surface consistency: professional preparation and installation remain critical because film technology cannot compensate for contamination, poor alignment or unsuitable paint preparation.
07 / INSTALLATION TECHNOLOGY

The material is only half the system.

A technically capable film still needs a technically capable installation. Professional preparation, panel inspection, pattern accuracy, controlled application and edge finishing all influence the final result.

01

Inspect

Paint condition, contamination, previous repairs and panel suitability are evaluated before film is applied.

02

Prepare

The surface is cleaned and prepared so the adhesive interface can work consistently across the intended area.

03

Apply

The film is positioned and conformed around curves and contours while controlling solution, pressure and alignment.

04

Finish

Edges, transitions and final surface quality are checked before the vehicle is released to the customer.

09 / BUILT FOR THE REGION

Dubai & Saudi roads demand more from a finish.

Strong sunlight, heat, dust, highway debris and frequent washing can all contribute to the everyday exposure of automotive paint. A protection system should therefore be considered as part of a vehicle's long-term appearance strategy—not simply a cosmetic accessory.

Legend Pro's supplied product material identifies the brand as Made in South Korea and positions its PPF around premium TPU, self-healing, hydrophobic performance, optical clarity and a 10-year warranty for the stated warranty conditions. Exact performance remains product- and installation-dependent.

The goal is simple: put a replaceable, engineered protective interface between the environment and the finish you paid for.

10 / TECHNOLOGY, EXPLAINED

What PPF can—and cannot—do.

Does PPF stop every scratch?

No. PPF is designed to reduce everyday paint exposure and protect against many forms of minor abrasion and impact. Severe impact, deep cuts and damage that penetrates the film can still affect the underlying surface.

Does self-healing repair deep damage?

No. Self-healing is intended for minor surface marks. Deeper cuts or punctures are outside what a self-healing surface is designed to recover from.

Does hydrophobic mean the car never needs washing?

No. Hydrophobic behaviour helps water and contamination interact differently with the surface, but regular, appropriate maintenance remains necessary.

Why is installation so important?

Film technology cannot overcome poor preparation or poor application. Surface cleanliness, alignment, stretching, edge treatment and curing all affect appearance and long-term performance.

Can PPF be used on curved body panels?

Modern automotive PPF is designed to conform to complex vehicle contours. The exact installation approach depends on the film construction, panel geometry and installer technique.

Is PPF a replacement for careful washing?

No. Correct washing and maintenance protect both the film and the paint underneath. Abrasive tools and unsuitable chemicals can damage the film surface.
